hI, i’M aMBER

I grew up in Central Florida, where I spent a lot time reading in trees and day dreaming about grand adventures.  I was heavily involved in the 4-H program, and it was here I realized not everyone enjoys public speaking like I do [strange]. Adult life has led me to live in South Carolina and Virginia, and I’m grateful to have had adventures in 31 U.S. states and 17 foreign countries so far.

I studied communications at Southeastern University, clinical mental health counseling at Liberty University, and biblical studies in Chiang Mai, Thailand. For over 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in the helping profession. Through a therapeutic wilderness camp, sexual assault response program, pregnancy care center, student counseling services, Christian counseling and private practice settings, coworkers and clients have taught me so much. Though I did not plan to be a counselor when I was young, I have always loved deep, meaningful conversations. To hear people’s stories and walk with them in some of the darkest moments life can bring—it really is an honor.

My husband, two sons, and I live in Greenville, South Carolina. I currently have more hobbies and interests then I can manage, not the least of which include keeping vegetable plants alive long enough to actually harvest and being an extra in The Chosen tv series.

See counseling page to learn more about counseling services.

I do still enjoy speaking to church groups, businesses, non-profit organizations, as a guest on podcasts, youtube channels, etc. For speaking inquiries, click here.
